The Winner Of The Diageo Reserve World Class India 2016 Is...

The 7th edition of the Diageo Reserve World Class was held few days back in Bengaluru and the event was colorful with beautiful cocktails and amazing bartenders. 20 mixologists from all over the country participated in the event and the winner will represent India and compete the world’s best bartenders event at Diageo Reserve World Class Global Finals to be held in September, 2016 in Miami, United States.
Diageo Reserve World Class is said to be one of the biggest and most prestigious bartending competition transforming drinking experiences and cocktail culture around the world. Here in Bangalore, Shangri-La Hotel's new baby HYPE Lounge hosted the event. Top 20 bartenders were judged by an expert panel consisting of
Feroze Merchant- Head of Luxury, USL Diageo.
Nicholas Ord- USL Diageo Reserve Brand Ambassador
Jamie Walker- USL Diageo Reserve Brand Ambassador
Serhan Kusakisizoglu- Director of Corporate Projects, Shangri La
Nicole Faria- ex Miss Earth 2010
Manu Chandra- Chef Partner Toast
Dan Jones - Brand Ambassador at United Spirits Limited - DIAGEO (Host)
The contestants were judged on the basis of three rounds: Pantry, Speed Round and the Mystery Box Round. These bartenders were actually selected for over 6 months in multiple regional levels before it came down to Bangalore for the national finals. The bartenders exhibited some amazing talent in the course and 3 out of 20 were selected for the finals. The finalists were Jitender Singh (aka Jeet Rana), Dilbar Singh Rawat and Vikram Sharma and the winner of the Diageo Reserve World Class India 2016 is Jitender Singh (aka Jeet Rana). The title 'India Bartender of the Year' was also awarded to Jitender.

Sharing his big win, Jitender added, “It’s a real honour to be the Diageo Reserve World Class India Bartender of the Year 2016. The platform has given me an opportunity to learn from the best in the industry and I can confidently say that I have grown enormously as a professional through this journey. It feels extremely rewarding to compete with the best bartenders in the world and represent India at the Global Finals in Miami. I can’t wait to bring the Global title back to India!”
The winner will now represent india on the world stage at the Diageo’s eighth annual Global Diageo World Class Competition that will be held in Miami in September, 2016. Brew & Chew wishes Mr. Jitender Singh (aka Jeet Rana) for his future adventures and wishes all the other bartenders to bring on the spirit of Mixology.
